Bring Network Up Or Down

You can use ifup and ifdown to bring the network up or down. These commands will use the settings in /etc/network/interfaces for the specified device.

  • Example bringing the network up:
  • ifup eth0
  • Example bringing the network down:
  • ifdown eth0

See man ifup for command line arguments.
