Change computer name

This page was last updated on July 18, 2009.

  1. Open the hostname file in a text editor with root privileges:
  2. kdesudo kate /etc/hostname
  3. Change the computer’s name.
  4. Save the changes.
  5. Exit the editor.
  6. Reboot the computer.

Obligatory Happy Ending
