Clock changes Windows time

This page was last updated on July 18, 2009.

If your clock settings are changing the time so that it’s incorrect when you dual boot into Windows, tell Ubuntu or Kubuntu to use local time rather than UTC. Windows ony works with local time. Either configure the clock in the GUI by right-clicking it in the tray, or edit this file:
/etc/default/rcS
Change UTC from yes to no and save the file.

Obligatory Happy Ending
