Multiple TTY Session Cheat Sheet

TERMINAL SESSION
Open the TTY session <Ctrl><Alt><F1> through <Ctrl><Alt><F6>
Log in to the TTY session Enter user name & password.
Use the TTY session Use the terminal normally.
Log out of the TTY session exit
Close the TTY session <Ctrl><Alt><F7>
GUI SESSION
Open the TTY session <Ctrl><Alt><F1> through <Ctrl><Alt><F6>
Log in to the TTY session Enter user name & password.
Start the GUI startx
Use the GUI Use the GUI normally.
Log out of the GUI Use the GUI menu to log out (not shut down).
Log out of the TTY session exit
Close the TTY session <Ctrl><Alt><F7>
MANAGE SESSIONS
View TTY sessions w
Display the current TTY session tty
Go to a new TTY session <Ctrl><Alt><F1> through <Ctrl><Alt><F6>
Go to the default TTY session <Ctrl><Alt><F7>


Obligatory Happy Ending

And they all lived happily ever after. The end.
