Associate t2t files with Kate and the txt2tags GUI program in Konqueror

  1. Open Konqueror.
  2. Open the Settings menu.
  3. Choose Configure Konqueror…
  4. Choose File Associations
  5. Choose text
  6. Choose t2t
  7. Left-click the Add… button under the Application Preference Order section.
  8. Browse to /usr/bin/txt2tags
  9. Left-click the OK button.
  10. Left-click the Edit… button.
  11. Left-click the Application tab.
  12. Add a space and –gui to the end of the command.
  13. Left-click the OK button.
  14. Left-click the Add… button under the Application Preference Order section.
  15. Browse to /usr/bin/kate
  16. Left-click the OK button.
  17. Left-click the Move Up button.
  18. Move Kate above the txt2tags entry.
  19. Left-click the Apply button.
  20. Left-click the OK button.

Now when you double-click t2t files in Konqueror, they’ll open in Kate. When you right-click them, you’ll find Kate and the txt2tags GUI in the Open with submenu.
